Pulleys for taper bushes

A pulley's profile depends on the type of belt used. With a curved belt, the pulley is a single wheel with curves on its profile (to hold down the belt). With a flat belt, the pulley has one (or several) groove/s, serving to reduce slippage, and with a timing belt, which is toothed, the pulley is also toothed. Pulleys for timing belts may, or may not, have one (or two) flanges to hold down the belt.

Bars and Flanges

Bars and flanges are used for manufacturing of special pulleys. In this chapter, you can find bars (metric or inch) as well as flanges (0.5 to 3mm thick). Please note: our workshop can quote pulleys in less than 24h!

Trapezoidal belts

V-belts are belts with a trapezoidal section.

Synchronous Belts

Timing belts are toothed. To provide examples, we use them to pull camshafts, or for the secondary transmission in some motorbikes. They are also used in many industrial and agricultural machines. This type of belt is key in helping to avoid phase differences between the inlet and the outlet. Even when well tightened and with no sliding, a non-grooved belt will shift owing to its elasticity. In fact, the length of its stretch will differ between tight strands and slack strands, and this is the variation that causes the phase differences.

Poly-V and flat belts

A flat belt is a belt with a rectangular section. The purpose of the flat belt is to transfer the mechanical force of one pulley to another, thus allowing for variation of the rotating speed through unit changes. Belts with detachable sections allow for quicker, easier installation, they are adjustable and they noticeably reduce the belt's vibration and noise level. A grooved belt is a belt for ridged power transmission length-wise, which significantly increases the contact surface area between the pulley and the belt, however it operates through the grip of the set of teeth on the pulley. Its single-piece structure allows for the even distribution of pulley/belt contact pressure.
